I am a first-generation Somali Bantu graduate from Guilford College. My role as the Admin Support Specialist allows me to support our administrative team to ensure Active & Connected is operating smoothly. I work more on the backend of the company dealing with sending out paperwork and organizing files. I also provide interface support between clients and clinician as needed. I cancel appointments and make sure everyone gets the help they need if I can't provide it myself.
I was born in one of the largest refugee camps in Kenya after my family fled from Somalia due to endless war. I hold a BA in psychology with a minor in biology and hope to earn a masters in social work. I am bilingual. I speaks Af-Maay which is a dialect of the Somali language.
