Morgan Robertson, M.Ed. – Resident in Counseling
Bio

If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by more than your share, I see you. Whether you’re a child or teenager working through big feelings and discovering who you are in this complicated world, or an adult processing your experiences and clarifying what matters most, I strive to offer a space that’s genuine, nonjudgmental, sometimes a little lighthearted, and truly yours. I have worked with clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, perfectionism, recovery from substance use, trauma, and challenging relationships through a person-centered and existential lens.

Before pursuing my M.Ed. in clinical mental health counseling at the University of Lynchburg, I spent over a decade as an educator, teaching elementary music, gifted education, and middle school choir after receiving my B.M. and M.A.T. in choral music education from Christopher Newport University. Those years shaped my relational, holistic, and strengths-based approach to counseling, and instilled in me a deep curiosity and respect for each person’s story.

During our time together, my goal is for you to feel deeply supported and gently challenged. I believe growth happens not only in the grand, emotional breakthroughs, but also in the seemingly little, everyday choices that move you closer to what truly matters — your values, your connections, and your sense of self. Our collaboration will focus on helping you align daily actions with your sources of meaning and fulfillment, so that life feels a little more like your own.

Outside the counseling space, I live in central Virginia with my energetic Golden pup and two lovably sassy felines. During my time off, I enjoy abnormally long walks outdoors, scoping out the best decaf lattes, exploring new and off-the-beaten-path places, listening to and performing live music, hesitatingly signing up for ultramarathons, and spending time with my furkiddos, parents, and dear friends. I currently see clients in Albemarle County Schools and offer in-person, walk-and-talk, and telehealth sessions at our Lynchburg office under the supervision of Matthew Browning, LPC.
