Hello! I am a Licensed Master's Social Worker and a Supervisee in Clinical Social Work. I have over 15 years of experience working with families, couples, young adults, geriatrics, teens, and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, health issues, and unexpected life events, including but not limited to grief and loss.
My background concerns positive community development, including building intergenerational partnerships within our organizations. As a therapist, I strive to create an authentic, compassionate, and collaborative relationship with my clients by utilizing integrative approaches with strengths in (CBT), solution-focused therapy, emotional-focused therapy, and narrative therapy to help my clients tune into whom they want to become and overcome life challenges.
My experience ranges from working in child welfare to various long-term and outpatient healthcare settings focused on treating people of all ages diagnosed with acute and chronic illnesses. I also take a holistic approach to well-being, integrating spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional forms of well-being.
Growing up with west African parents, I prioritize multicultural competence and strive to help individuals of all ethnic and racial backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations feel comfortable in therapy.
A native of the DMV, I earned my BSW and MSW from Salisbury University. When not working, you can find me enjoying downtown Alexandria with my spouse and two energetic sons, ages seven and five. I enjoy exploring nature, good eats, meditating, and traveling abroad. I strive to live a purposeful life and endure that every person who crosses my path understands their true purpose.
I am a Supervisee in Clinical Social Work supervised by Jodi Harris, LCSW. I provide in-person, walk-and-talk, and teletherapy sessions at our Arlington/Alexandria office. Taking the first step toward getting help takes much courage.
