Chloe Watkins, MSW Intern

Chloe Watkins, MSW Intern
Bio

I am an MSW intern at Active & Connected Family Therapy during the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters as I finish my Masters in Social Work at the Virginia Commonwealth University. I am working under the supervision of Caroline Megargel, LCSW.

I specialize in working with families, women, and children going through transition or times of upheaval, or who are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress management, parenting, and relationships.

I have been a yoga and mindfulness teacher for over a decade as well as a birth and postpartum doula. As a result, my therapeutic approach is based on the belief that as much as the physical body needs exercise and fresh air to be healthy, so do our emotional, intellectual, and mental patterns. Understanding the connection between the physical and the emotional is ever present in my approach, and I will often encourage my clients to engage with their bodies as much as their feelings. I encourage time outside, feeling what’s happening in our bodies, and talking about what’s on our minds.

I grew up in central Virginia and my husband Elliott and I live in Crozet where we are raising two young daughters and our old dog, Goose. In our spare time, we enjoy being in nature— whether it’s running, yoga, or hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I received my BA in Art History and Religious Studies from the University of Virginia, and, as mentioned above, am in the process of completing my MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University.

I am currently working out of the Pantops offices as well as Pediatric Associates Downtown.
