I specialize in therapy for college students, young adults and women struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress management, motherhood/parenting, relationship issues, and interpersonal life skills. I also specialize in couples/marital counseling, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and trauma training with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I develop strong relationships with my clients and, together, we work towards finding their roadmaps in life, improving self-worth, identifying goals/objectives, reducing hard feelings and behaviors, and overall feeling better at managing daily life.
I earned my Bachelor’s and Masters in Counselor Education and School Counseling from Longwood University. I have worked in private practice, outpatient settings, crisis services, school-based services, and in-home services. Through all, I value the individuality of each of my clients and ensure our work is tailored to their specific needs, including improving thinking patterns, communication skills, motivation, mindfulness skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and problem-solving skills. Counseling can be a daunting journey but having an experienced counselor there every step of the way makes it that much easier.
I live in Lynchburg with my husband, young son, and two dogs. We enjoy spending time exploring the community, playing golf, and being with family and friends. I provide face-to-face and walk-and-talk therapy out of our Lynchburg office.
