Bio

I am a compassion-oriented clinician dedicated to supporting mental health and well-being. My diverse background in mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and international community development has equipped me with a unique perspective and deep understanding of the human experience. I prioritize bringing my authentic self into the counseling experience to build trust and rapport with my clients.

My approach utilizes evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) to address a wide range of mental health issues. My experience includes providing support for adolescents and teens in crisis, supporting families, leading DBT skills groups for middle school students, and working with adults with severe mental illnesses. I specialize in treating severe anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, grief, stress, life transitions, and self-harm.

Before my career in mental health, I completed a master’s degree in Anthropology and spent four years living in West Africa. It was through my work overseas, helping and walking alongside marginalized communities, that I discovered my passion for mental health. This profound experience led me to pursue a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Since relocating to Virginia in 2020, I have been dedicated to working as a crisis counselor, supporting middle and high school students.

My approach is client-centered, combining empathy and active listening with structured therapeutic techniques. I believe in empowering clients by helping them understand and manage their emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, heal from negative experiences, and build supportive relationships. My work is guided by the principles of DBT, CBT, IFS, and NET, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Additionally, I value a trauma-informed approach that supports long-term healing and recognizes the profound impact of the past on present well-being. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can navigate life's challenges and achieve their personal and mental health goals. Together, we can work towards healing and growth.
