I specialize in working with children, teens, parents, couples, and families. I work with individuals and families who are struggling with stress, anxiety, feelings of depression, difficult transitions, or ADHD. Additionally, I work with parents of/and children who are having emotional and academic difficulties in the school setting. I strive to help my clients feel better connected and live their lives more fully as themselves. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, mindfulness, a strengths-based and goal-oriented approach. I am dedicated to ensuring that the counseling room is a safe space by providing genuine openness and unconditional positive regard for my clients.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and earned my Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have worked with children and families in Virginia for over 20 years, most recently in Albemarle County and Charlottesville City Public Schools. I also have experience working in private schools across our area.
I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family (including two pre-teens), and gardening. I work out of the Charlottesville-East Pantops office and also offer Teletherapy to families throughout Virginia.
