Bio

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Colorado and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island with 30+ combined years of experience working in schools and in private practice. During a sociology internship in college where I was placed in a Chicago Public School, I realized I was far more interested in talking to students about what was going on at home precluding them from doing their homework than I was in teaching math. I took psychology classes at NYU after ski instructing for a year and eventually applied to the Teachers College at Columbia University in New York where I earned my masters in Psychological Counseling.

I’ve worked with many populations over the decades from adult psychiatric patients in NYC to school-aged kids in Colorado to young adult/adults in Rhode Island in private practice. I’m new to Charlottesville this year and am excited to continue working with young adults and adults in helping them find their footing and balance during challenging times and life transitions.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my three children and our dog, Wrigley. I’m a huge sports fan, and enjoy hiking, skiing and live music when I’m not cheering on my teams.
