Bio

I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker working with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. I am excited to be a part of the Active and Connected international telehealth team!

I have experience working in a variety of settings with challenges including depression, anxiety, navigating challenges with parenting, overcoming traumatic experiences, managing stress, and grief and loss. My personal experience as a military spouse of several years (still counting!) while raising children, navigating moves both within as well as outside of the US is of particular benefit in understanding the unique values and culture of military and expat communities and lifestyle.

Through the years, I have integrated several theories and practice models in my work. I consider my style to be eclectic and collaborative. While I have the ability to draw from my several approaches to therapy, I consider the most important factor to be my relationship with the clients I serve and finding the approach that is the best fit for individual needs and goals of therapy. The models I draw from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and skills training. In recent years, I have had a particular interest in integrating components of mindfulness and self-compassion into my work. I draw from Emotionally Focused and Gottman theory in my work with couples.

In my free time I enjoy cycling, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
