Bio

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and specialize in working with children and adults. I believe art therapy offers a unique and hands-on approach for individuals to gain insight, increase mindfulness, and find healing. Therapy starts with a supportive relationship in a welcoming environment. I take a collaborative approach with clients and draw from attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Self-compassion. For my younger clients, I incorporate Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy into the therapeutic process. Areas of specialty include anxiety, neurodiversity, life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, relationships, and depression.

I earned my MA in Art Therapy with an Emphasis in Counseling from Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College. Before entering the field of art therapy and counseling, I worked as an art teacher for nine years in Baltimore City and Arlington County. My focus shifted from education to the need for mental health support for children and adolescents facing challenges in their personal lives and at school. Now as a therapist, I believe in providing holistic support by collaborating with families, school counselors, and other mental health providers to best meet the needs of my clients.

I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends, creating art, spending time in nature, and traveling. I work out of the Falls Church office and provide both in-person sessions and teletherapy.
