Bio

I am a Resident in Counseling under the supervision of Matthew Browning, LPC. I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, multicultural clients, and members of the LGBTQIA+ population. I believe that therapy is for everyone, and is a collaborative experience for us to reach whatever goals you bring. Through compassionate listening, humor, and expressive interventions, I strive to create a warm and trusting relationship with my clients, and utilize strength-based approaches that cater towards learning from past and personal experiences in order to find solutions that work for you. Together, we can not only reshape negative thought patterns related to anxiety, depression, or self-esteem, but also explore identity and life.

I work from a person-centered and humanistic approach that is rooted in interpersonal process and social justice frameworks, and adapt my counseling interventions to the unique needs of each client in order to maintain an accepting, non-judgemental environment. I push for multicultural competency within the field, and want individuals of all cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations to feel safe, especially when the world outside of the room may not necessarily feel safe at times. Outside of work I love to paint, watch horror movies, and explore the best foods Charlottesville has to offer.
