Hi! My name is Laura, and I’m a Supervisee in Social Work under the supervision of Fran Ellers, LCSW and Amanda Sovik-Johnston, Ph.D. I work with parents, children, adolescents, and adults in the Richmond, Virginia office and via telehealth.
My therapeutic approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and individualized. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help people build on their strengths, develop new skills and ways of approaching situations, and strengthen relationships. I have worked with people experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression and emotional regulation, as well as people navigating grief and loss and difficult caregiving situations. For parents and caregivers interested in parent coaching, I provide neuro-affirming, evidence-based parenting support for neurodivergent children and families (ASD, ADHD, AuDHD).
I graduated with my master’s degree in social work with an advanced clinical practice concentration from Columbia University in 2026 and with my bachelor’s degree in art history with a minor in dance from Princeton University in 2010. I am also a Richmond native who is very happy to be back home! Outside of the office, you can find me running, taking dance classes, and enjoying Richmond with my husband and our two children.
