Hi there, I am a Resident in Counseling under the direct supervision of Matt Browning, LPC. I graduated with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Theology from Mount St. Mary’s University. I have worked in both private practice and community mental health; both have provided me invaluable experience.
I work with various ages, including children, teens, adults, and older adults. I specialize in working with life transitions, anxiety, depression, generational family trauma, grief and loss, attachment and relational issues. Throughout my work, I offer a space that is open to exploring faith-based and existential themes if this aligns with my client’s interests. I utilize a person- centered approach, combining aspects of dialectical-behavior therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and internal family systems to support the integration of thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
My approach to therapy is rooted in active connection, helping clients rediscover their goodness, resilience, and capacity for healing through the therapeutic relationship. It is a great privilege to walk with clients through their difficulties in life, and I seek to honor their thoughts and emotions as part of their story. I meet clients wherever they are and accompany them toward their therapeutic goal, whether that is improving self-concept, challenging thought patterns, or processing trauma. In session, I use my authenticity, warmth, and humor to encourage client comfort –I know that sometimes we just need to be able to laugh! I offer in-person and walk-and- talk sessions out of the Charlottesville-Pantops office and telehealth for clients throughout the state of Virginia.
Outside of the office, you can find me outdoors admiring the flowers (potentially picking them, too), tending to my 50+ house plants, hiking, or walking some of the beautiful trails in Charlottesville.
