Hello! I am a supervisee in clinical social work under the supervision of Fran Ellers, LCSW.
I’m thrilled to be joining the Active & Connected Team as a mental health professional with over a decade of experience at the intersection of public health, mental health, and early childhood education.
I specialize in working with adults and parents, offering support around life transitions, stress management, relationships, anxiety, depression, and grief. I also provide parent coaching and guidance for navigating emotional challenges with children, creating a space for caregivers to build insight, confidence, and effective strategies. My work extends to supporting individual clients, both adults and children, with a focus on fostering growth, resilience, and well-being. I am particularly passionate about supporting foreign service families and strengthening parent-child relationships.
In my practice, I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive environment. I value the strengths each individual and family brings into the room and work to build on those throughout the therapeutic process.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and relationship-based, drawing from trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, Play Therapy, and exposure-based treatments. I center connection, curiosity, and compassion in my work.
As a Bolivian-American and Spanish speaker, I bring a deep appreciation for bicultural identity and the role of language and culture in shaping family experiences and needs.
I graduated in 2014 with my Master of Social Work (MSW) and Master of Public Health (MPH) from New York University, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from the University of Miami.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors with friends and family. As part of a foreign service family recently returned from Zambia, I find joy and grounding in being in nature with our seven-year-old daughter and 14-year-old dog.
I currently work out of our Falls Church and Arlington/Alexandria offices, offering in-person and teletherapy appointments.
