Ashleigh Spencer, MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Bio

Hello! I am a licensed Resident in Counseling in Virginia and am supervised by Kathleen Van Allen, LPC. I specialize in working with individuals, couples and families struggling with a variety of concerns from difficulties with self-esteem and self-worth to processing the many different forms of stressors that life can bring. I have experience in working with addiction, anxiety, depression and mood disorders (including premenstrual dysphoric disorder), obsessive compulsive disorder and borderline personality disorder. Other specialties include moms, dads, and military deployment.

In my practice, I aim to help you live an authentic life where your actions align with your values. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy and prioritize my clients’ goals and desires for growth. I am also committed to fostering a safe and non-judgemental space that involves meeting individuals where they are at in the healing process and helping them achieve personal growth. I enjoy working with families to overcome obstacles or difficult dynamics and partnering with families through the ups and downs of day-to-day life. I often utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions depending on my clients’ needs and preferences, and I am especially drawn to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques. As an advocate for mental wellness, I am dedicated to supporting individuals on their path to living fulfilling and meaningful lives.

I graduated in 2023 from Liberty University with my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In my free time, I enjoy spending time hanging out with my family and two cats. I also enjoy cozy video games and art. I currently work out of the A&C Lynchburg office.
