Hello. I am Emma Mason and I work with children of all ages, teens, young adults, families, and couples. Another of my specialties is caregiver support for individuals with disabilities or aging individuals as I am very familiar with stressors surrounding caregiving.
The counseling theories I employ are an integrative mix of CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, Gottman, humanistic, with occasional IFS and solution-focused/motivational interviewing work. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. Using a blend of evidence-based techniques, empathetic understanding, and solution-focused strategies, we'll work together to:
-Achieve goals important to you.
-Develop coping skills to manage stress and anxiety.
-Heal and build resilience.
-Improve self-esteem and cultivate self-compassion.
-Navigate life transitions with confidence.
-Foster healthier relationships and communication patterns.
Whether you're seeking to break free from old patterns, heal from past wounds, or simply find more joy and purpose in your life, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
While I work with ages 3 and up and a diverse set of presenting concerns, I have a few areas of increased passion: I have certifications and training in trauma work, play therapy, and LGBTGEQIAP+ counseling, and am in progress on following certifications:
-Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist Intensive Training (ASDCS)
-2nd Edition -ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP)
-Neurodiversity Specialist Training: Affirming Practices for Autism, ADHD, “AuDHD”, Dyslexia, OCD, and More
Clients often describe me as empathetic, accepting, and gently challenging. I'm passionate about creating a therapeutic relationship where you feel truly seen and understood. My goal is to help you overcome current challenges, but also to equip you with the tools and insights to continue growing long after our sessions end. Whether you're seeking to break free from old patterns, heal from past wounds, or simply find more joy and purpose in your life, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
I will be graduating in May 2025 with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an extra concentration in Relationship, Marriage, and Family Counseling from The College of William and Mary. I am currently providing telehealth services at Active & Connected Family Therapy.
In my freetime I enjoy snowboarding and skiing, baking, playing video games, camping, and mysa (Swedish verb that can be roughly translated to "cozy up" or "to relax in a cozy environment.") with my loved ones.
Currently I provide telehealth until relocating to an in-person office this summer.
