Hello and Welcome!
I am a therapist passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges, build meaningful relationships, and cultivate greater joy in their lives. I provide a compassionate, collaborative space that supports healing, growth, and the rediscovery of inner strengths. My person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused approach creates a warm and supportive environment where clients feel truly heard, valued, and empowered. I deeply respect the unique experiences and special qualities that each person brings into the therapy space. Together, we explore ways to nurture emotional well-being and personal growth, moving at a pace that feels comfortable while working toward lasting, meaningful change.
I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, school difficulties, and parenting stress. I specialize in supporting couples, families, and parents to strengthen relationships, improve communication, rebuild trust, and raise confident, resilient children. I also have a particular interest in supporting students, athletes, mothers, Veterans, and law enforcement officers as they navigate both the challenges and the rewards of these roles.
I use evidence-based approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, to help clients develop effective coping strategies and improve overall quality of life. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to healing and growth, and I strive to provide unconditional positive regard in a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can process difficult emotions and discover new ways to conquer life’s challenges.
I am originally from Maryland and earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from Salisbury University while starting for the women’s soccer team. I continue to hold the team record in career assists for women's soccer at Salisbury University. I also hold a Master of Education in School Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, and have many years of experience in teaching, coaching, and parenting.
I have been married to my college sweetheart for over twenty years and we have three beautiful children together. My husband is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and I spent several years as a military spouse living in different states across the country. I enjoy athletics and sports, country music, and being with my family. When not working, you can find me cheering for my children from the sidelines of the football, lacrosse, and soccer fields.
I see clients face-to-face out of our Richmond, Virginia office and provide teletherapy across Virginia. I am a Resident In Counseling under the supervision of Matt Browning, LPC.
