I specialize in working with pre-adolescents, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral regulation, trauma, grief, and relationship difficulties. As an army retiree, I have expertise working with military and veteran community clients and personally understand the strengths and challenges that come with this lifestyle. Additionally, I have personal experience with adoption and a special interest in supporting families with concerns related to adoption and attachment . With all clients and families, I blend insight, understanding, listening, and problem solving in order to help people get where they want to go. I am committed to providing a counseling environment that is supportive, compassionate, light-hearted, and curious.
After retiring from the Army, I earned a Master's in Education from William and Mary and completed my internship at the VA's Vet Center in Alexandria. My work combines a range of therapeutic modalities including CBT, ACT, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Currently, I am a Resident in Counseling under the supervision of Dayna Kumar, Licensed Professional Counselor, Expert in Trauma and Attachment Theory and certified in EMDR.
I enjoy spending time with my family, music, good coffee and exercise. I provide face-to-face, walk and talk and telehealth sessions and currently work out of the Arlington/Alexandria location.
