Bio

I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, and adoption. As an army retiree, I have expertise working with military and veteran community clients and personally understand the strengths and challenges that come with our lifestyle. Additionally, I have a special interest in families of adoption and working through attachment, as my 28-year-old daughter joined my family at 15 months old. With all clients and families, I blend insight, understanding, listening, and offering solutions in order to help people get where they want to go.

After retiring from the Army, I earned a Master's in Education from William and Mary and completed my internship at the VA's Vet Center in Alexandria. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Currently, I am a Resident in Counseling under the supervision of Dayna Kumar, Licensed Professional Counselor, Expert in Trauma and Attachment Theory and certified in EMDR.

I enjoy spending time with my family, music, good coffee and exercise. I provide face-to-face, walk and talk and telehealth sessions and currently work out of the Arlington/Alexandria location.
